“How’d you like being an SEO for real estate investor? It’s awesome!” “I love it! It makes me money!” This is from the mouths of investors who have taken the SEO / marketing concept really serious and applied it to their entire realty business.
“For real estate investors, yes, I do consider myself a true SEO guru. NASA scientists, real estate investors, turned internet marketer, turned expert SEO expert! Well, now we’re investors first and foremost, too. For our company, I had to crack the Google code on a major search engine and like a true SEO expert, I did.
“Why did we rank so high for ‘niche’ keywords such as ‘foreclosure’ or ‘for sale by owner’? Google told us it wasn’t possible to rank for these keywords. We were stunned! We had never been to the top of the Google rankings before, but we had done some very good keyword research and found that real estate investors were searching for ‘for sale by owner’ or ‘foreclosure listings’. So we thought that this would be a great way to target our keywords. We put up a website and found that not only did we get traffic, but we got sales.
“Well now that we got leads, how do we convert those leads into sales?” Once again, we were stunned. Google said that keywords with less than three words per sentence aren’t going to bring in enough traffic to make it worth it to rank for that keyword. So we decided to up our game and add a little something. We changed our keyword usage from just real estate investors to “for sale by owner” and found that now we were getting tons of traffic, leads, and sales from this keyword.
So what now? We changed our domain authority from the low level keywords to the higher level domain authority keywords. This brought us back up in the rankings. Now we know that if we rank for “for sale by owner” then we have more potential for converting traffic into leads and sales. We have now become an SEO niche finder and a true SERP real estate investor.
I will close by saying this, as an SEO specialist I don’t believe that you should abandon your SEO, however I also don’t believe that it is necessary to do all of the work yourself. I also think that with some knowledge and experience you can save a lot of time and headache by using a good online lead generation company to do most of the work for you. You will pay them a reasonable fee for doing the work for you and they will provide you with qualified prospects that will most likely convert into leads and sales. And most importantly, you won’t be a lead generation overlord. Consider this in 2021.
